Supported by Stadt Chemnitz through the funding program "In der Krise sichtbar und hörbar bleiben" (Staying Visible and Audible in Crisis)
How can we convey the sense of touch in a virtual environment? Is it possible to evoke tactile sensations through a flat, two-dimensional screen? What happens when physical touch ceases to exist? This project explores these questions by investigating the intersection of touch, perception, and digital representation.
The experimental knittings exploration focuse on volume, visibility, and color. Presented as the video series Virtual Haptics, this work was created using a CMS 740 knitting machine from @stollknitting. Funded by Kulturförderung der Stadt Chemnitz, the project invites viewers to reflect on the changing nature of haptics in a digitally connected world.
